Cleanliness
Our responsibilities
- 30 second rule. Dogs poop and pee at daycare, just like at outdoor dog runs. That’s why we have a “30 second rule” for cleaning up immediately. However, our pack leaders may need to address other issues before cleaning up because ensuring a safe environment for all our dogs is our top priority.
- Wipe downs. We strive to return dogs in a clean condition and will often wipe them down, if needed, but this is not always possible.
- After baths. We prefer not to crate dogs, so by default we’ll return a dog to the dog runs to play after getting a bath.
Your responsibilities
- Baths. Recognize that when your dog is playing with his or her friends at Happy Dogs, it’s similar to going to the dog run at the park and he or she is unlikely to remain completely clean; regular baths (at Happy Dogs or elsewhere) are recommended.
- Boarding visits. If your dog boards with us for an extended period of time (more than 5 days), it’s normal that your dog won’t be completely clean at the end of his or her stay. We recommend that you book a bath to be given near the end of your dog’s stay.
